Exploration and prospect of training mode of personnel for emergency management in colleges and universities

Abstract: In order to promote modernization of China's governance system and capacity, improve training quality of personnel for emergency management in colleges and universities and to address lack of such talents, a comparison was made in emergency discipline education between China and the United States, and useful experience of the US were drawn. Then, by collecting advice of domestic scholars on development of such personnel and analyzing major issues colleges and universities have in related specialties, a continuously improved training mode was proposed with outcome-oriented concept as framework based on demands, existing problems and relevant specialties. The results show that the major of emergency management is still in its early stages with lots of existing problems. Its general objective is to develop talents capable of intelligent and active management in an era of emergency science and technology, and diverse teaching routes and systematic curriculum system can provide a powerful support for talent training.
